Dimensions of Body Image: Body Image Scale

This study aims at developing a measuring instrument of which validity and reliability for the body images individuals during adolescence young adulthood are proven. The group consists 384 high school students. content was tested by seeking an expert opinion construct applying explanatory (EFA) confirmatory (CFA) factor analysis. In scope analysis, IBM SPSS Statistics v20.0 Lisrel 8.80 programs were used. As result EFA, four-factor structure, explains 62% total variance is composed 21 items, obtained. factors called “Negative Perception Body”, “Evaluation Sensitivity”, “Positive “Body Change”. CFA, it determined that structure consisting items had adequate fit index. consequence found Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficients, calculated EFA CFA samples, being .92 .88 fell within acceptable values. findings obtained following item analysis demonstrated score listed in Body Image Scale presented level predictive power distinctiveness. can be defined as valid reliable to used measure image adolescents adults.
